Ledger's Life Insurance Co: Suicide=No Cash

Matilda Ledger's trustee is suing a subsidiary of ING America for the $10million policy they don't want to pay. The insurance company wants to investigate because they believe Heath Ledger committed suicide. Hasn't the death already been ruled accidental.
They actually believe they are going to be able to have a deposition with Mary-Kate Olsen. She'll be hiding behind lawyers as soon as they issue a subpoena. Sounds like ING is just dragging their feet.

Mark & Rhea Announce Baby Name: Brendan Joseph!
Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham gave their new son a normal name. He will be thanking them in a dozen years, when a lot of other celebrity children are getting teased and beaten up.

IFAW Animal Action Week - October 4th-10th

A Duggar Family Wedding Expands Brood to 20:
The eldest Duggar boy, Josh married Anna Keller. Josh is just 20. And the couple had never even kissed before they were married. Wonder why they married so young. The couple is already talking about starting a family, so expect a baby within a year. (You know he's never heard of birth control.)
Anna will be taking part in the Duggar television show. Am I the only one who thinks this wedding was time to coincide with the premiere of their show.

Police Find The Bodies Of Two Little Girl's In Mother's Freezer

A starving, abused little girl in Southern Maryland made a daring escape from a second floor window. And when police went to investigate they found the bodies of two other girl's in the adoptive mother's freezer.

The little girl's ages 9 and 11 had been in Renee Bowman's freezer for over a year. The third little girl had been in Bowman's custody since February, but few of the neighbors knew of her existance. Washington DC social services had been paying the woman $2,600 a month to care for the children.

One neighbor had a brief glimpse of the girl a few months ago. "Coco had run into the garage and I was talking to her for at least 45 minutes, and then I noticed something move in the back seat," explained Phillip Garrett. "And she said, 'Oh, well that's my baby.'"

He is the one that found the little girl wandering the streets barely clothed and dirty. She remembered him and the dog, and told him the story.

"She looked sad, sad and abused and mentally exhausted," Garrett told FOX 5. "She told her that her mother had literally beaten her to death."

He took the girl to his home and fed her pizza while they waited to for the police. When Bowman came to claim the child police arrested her on abuse charges. They searched the home and found the two bodies in the freezer. Police believes that the girls were killed at the family's former home and moved in the freezer. Bowman admits she starved one of the girls to death and that the other one fell and hit her head. (Yeah, and I have fairy wings.)

Renee Bowman is being held without bond.

Didn't social service ever come to check on the children. They at least should have made a visit before placing the seven year old in the home. Didn't they notice that the two girls were missing.

Maybe Your Kid Is Just A Brat

Why do so many parents side with their kids when the teacher reprimands them? Little kids are little liars. So why automatically believe them when they say they didn't do anything wrong, and they don't know why they got in trouble. Don't expect your kid to do well in school if every time they do something wrong, you go yell at the teacher.

The Tabloids No Longer Shelling Out The Big Bucks

The tabloids have figured out that they are wasting their money paying millions for baby photos. Clay Aiken only got $500,000 for the People photos of his baby, Parker. And he had to finally come out of the closet for that amount. Half a million dollars isn't shabby but it's not the millions magazines were shelling out just a few months ago. And only one other tabloid bid for the pictures. They are blaming it on the crappy economy.

“Gone are the days when any celebrity gets millions of dollars for their photos,” says one magazine editor. “Economically, it doesn’t make sense, and there is only so long that you can keep saying ‘It’s good for the brand.’ People is the magazine that’s most well-off, that has the finances right now to take on these exclusives.”

And they realise that nobody actually buy the magazines to see the baby photos. The photos are almost always available on the internet within hours of the magazine release. And there is always the old fashioned reading the short, fluff ball pieces in the checkout line for free. Why buy the magazine, when you can look at the pictures for free while somebody bags your groceries.

“Sure, everyone is curious to see Matthew McConaughey and his baby, but is it worth it?" says the editor. "For millions of dollars and only a small bump in sales, it isn’t worth it for the magazine, and when the economy is the mess it is now, it makes more sense to look at the pictures (while) waiting in line instead of buying the thing.”

I wonder if this will stop all the D-list celebrities from breeding for publicity and quick paycheck.

Clek Oobr

I spend at least an hour every week trying to convince my nine year old to give up his expired car seat. He's not budging from his eight year old seat, at least he still fits in it.
Some of my favorite seats are by Clek. In January they will be coming out with a new booster seat, the Oobr. There is an adjustable head restraint, is LATCH equipped, a wider seat base for a larger child, and it reclines up to 12 degrees (because older children also fall asleep on long car seats too). And my biggest selling point to the wee tyrant, it has a detachable drink-thingy (cup holder) that is dishwasher safe. He may not want a new cup holder, but he would love to have a cup holder.

And am I the only one tired of the Paul Frank Julius monkey? It will be all over a Bugaboo next year too.

Caylee Anthony Update 30 September

This is the link to George Anthony's audio interview. George rarely uses Caylee's name. He refers to her as the little girl and my granddaughter a lot. George and Cindy Anthony were the primary caregivers for Caylee. And in May and June Casey started staying out later according to George, using work as her excuse.

About twenty minutes into the interview George describes how he tried to follow Casey on the freeway, trying to find out where she was going. And immediately after that is his statement about the stolen gas cans, and about how she didn't want George to go into the car trunk. She practically ran to the car to get to the trunk before her father did. And the part about the smell starts the trunk is 38 minutes in. At the end George describes how Caylee's birth caused some problems in his marriage in 2005.

I can't help but wonder if Casey was on welfare. She had to be getting money from somewhere. The Anthonys were supporting Caylee, but who was supporting Casey. Where was she getting the money to party from? George thought that Casey hadn't worked in two years.

The relationship between the Anthony parents and police officials has changed so much. The police wanted to work with the Anthonys. And the Anthonys wanted to help the police. It's so strange to listen to the tapes and hear how well they get on, and then listen to the Anthonys now. You have to wonder what life in the Anthony home is like. The family seems to know that Caylee is dead, no matter what they say in public.

Hear Casey Anthony's last boyfriend, Anthony Lazzaro speak. Here is the link to his audio interview. He didn't have much contact with Caylee from the sound of it. I don't think he was the specific reason that Casey killed her daughter. I think she killed the child to be free, not to be with Tony Lazarro.
And probably the reason Tony hasn't come forward is because he isn't as clean cut as his image. Amy said that Casey was getting pot to smoke from him. I would keep quiet too because statements like that lead to additional questions.

My Crazy Hormones

I said last week that my hormones probably went wonky because one of my neighbors would be giving birth soon. And guess what one of my neighbors gave birth today. One more neighbor to go.

Nicole Kidman talks about fertility water and seven people getting pregnant on set. Well we've got her beat. In the last 21 months there have been seven babies and I've had all those miscarriages (in a neighborhood of about 20 houses). And all the moms dropping kids off at the elementary school seem to be pushing baby strollers. So we have the real fertility water.

In the seventh video Cindy identifies Caylee's father as a one night stand named Eric, and says that Casey has kept in touch with him. And in the last video she says that her theory is that Zanny is either Amy or Anthony. And she admits that Casey fabricated the story about the babysitter.

(CNN) -- Paul Newman, the legendary actor whose steely blue eyes, good-humored charm and advocacy of worthy causes made him one of the most renowned figures in American arts, has died of cancer at his home in Westport, Connecticut. He was 83.

Paul Newman was one of my first crushes. I saw Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, and I was smitten.The fact that he had actual talent didn't hurt either. After that nobody could tell me that New Kids On The Block were hot. And admit it, he was still hot at 83.
