Kate Spade Bike Picnic Basket

This straw and leather picnic basket makes me want to pack a fancy picnic lunch and bike to some quiet spot in the country. The country isn't so far away, but it isn't very pretty and smells too much like cow. $325

Tactical Bail Out Gear Bag

Don't spend a small fortune on a diaper bag for dad (or yourself). Buy a tactical bag designed for police to carry. It is sturdy, has a million pockets, the shoulder strap is detectable, and the main compartment can be divided in two, and it just looks cool. Who will know that one of those pockets was designed for carrying a gun. This thing is designed to carry a million things, and who carries more stuff than new parents. And the very best part is the $19.99 price tag.

Mothers Day Gift Ideas

I really love this bag, but I wouldn't buy it for myself unless it was like half off (I'm saving for a Hermes Birkin). But the great thing about having older children is that they have money. I would wear it with jeans so that it didn't look so fussy. J. Crew Satin Gala Tote, $198.

Adrian Grenier At Petit Tresor

Take this with a grain of salt because as we all know, Petit Tresor stretches the truth (which is my way of nicely saying they lie through their teeth). Entourage star, Adrian Grenier and Shia LaBeouf crash co-star, Isabel Lucas are said to have been shopping at the store. According to the blabbers over at Petit Tresor they bought two bags of stuff, no word on why. Petit Tresor will be claiming to decorate their nursery in their newest product line soon.
But one of the items that the pair is said to have bought is the Afternoon in Katmandu Touring Tote from Petunia Pickle Bottom. It's a completely different diaper bag. The peacock print of the bag is embellished with hand embroidery and the shape is different. All in all, it's a completely new look in a diaper bag. $145

Products I'm Loving 25 August

My son's Chrome backpack. I've blogged about it before. But since he is returning to school today I thought I would write about how it stood up to wear and tear. This thing is brilliant. There is no wear at the bottom, the seams are all still strong, and it is in like new condition. The fact that his backpack was able to hold six high school text books without falling apart is wonderful. And it holds a ton of other stuff with room left over. I really think this will be his last backpack, unless I buy a smaller one. Because the thing is super sized. So if you buy one, buy it a size smaller, the Ranchero. $120-$160.

Farmers Market Basket

This mini shopping basket is so adorable, a tiny exact copy of the real thing. It would be so great for pretend play, and for bringing home their picks from the farmers market. About $37 and it can be shipped to the US.

Chrome Backpack

My son is a freshman in high school, and his backpack never seems to have enough storage space. The Chrome Bags Backbone looks like it would have more than enough space at 2400 cubic inches. It's designed for bicycle couriers, is weatherproof, has EVA foam straps, and a molded back panel. So carrying everything would be a little less back breaking. $160.
UPDATE: We ordered this backpack because my son's last backpack (which we had like three weeks was falling apart at the seams from all the weight). It is huge!!! He could use it as luggage. But is so well made that I don't expect to buy a new backpack the whole time he is in high school. Shipping took one day, of course we do only live about 90 minutes from San Francisco.

Vincent Baggy

This may be the perfect toddler backpack. It is sturdy and cute, just right for a growing toddler I am reminded of the cute little backpacks that Japanese school children carry. It is on sale for $32.45 on the Vincent website
