4Moms ABC Kids Offerings

The stroller and bouncer from 4Moms are two products that I would have tagged Products That Won't Get Made except for the fact that Thorley Industries (which owns 4Moms) has a $215 million deal with Hasbro. And the deal is for two unnamed products involving robotics technology. Could the Origami Self Folding Stroller and the Mamaroo bouncer be those products.
The Mamaroo has 4 different movements, sits on a pedastal, and plays the sound of a campfire, the ocean, a heartbeat or program your own sounds. It is one of 10 products selected for the Innovation Awards at the JMPA.
The Origami is the product getting most of the attention. Yes, that was power folding. Push a button and it folds up to a tiny package. And there is a sensor to detect whether or not a child is in the seat. That way the stroller doesn't fold when there is a child in the seat. And there is a built in generator to charge the battery, so no plugging the stroller in. You have to walk about 300 feet to produce enough power to one fold.

And the stroller also has all the features of a traditional stroller: reclining seat, carrycot, a car seat adapter, an included diaper bag for storage, and a cupholder. It should be available in February 2009 for around $650.
Update: To everyone who has emailed me about this stroller. I am trying to get more information.
Update: They were nice enough to send more information about the Origami and MamaRoo. It can be found here.
