4Moms Origami and Mamaroo
4Moms were nice enough to send me more information about the Origami and the Mamaroo.
The reason that the Origami has a motorized fold is because in order for the stroller to fold into such a compact shape it would take too many manual steps. And there are sensors that prevent the stroller from folding on its own with a child in the seat. And despite the fact that the Origami has that motor with generator it is 20% lighter than most strollers in its class.
The Origami is also customizable. You will have a choice of frame, fabric, and diaper bag colors. Those choices will be black, silver, blue, pink, and orange. Accessories will include a bassinet, travel bag, and a snack pack with two trays and two lidded cups. Car seat adapters for car seats by Graco and Peg Perego will also be available.
Expect the stroller in stores around February 2009 with a price around $649.95.
The MamaRoo, which won a JMPA Innovation Award, is the first baby swing that allows parent a choice between a swinging motion and a bouncing motion. The MamaRoo will come fully featured with a reclining seat, five built-in nature sounds with an MP3 hookup, and a removable toy bar. The color choices will be orange, silver, pink, and lime green. There will be an easy to use three-button interface that allows you to select which motion or sound you would like to seat as well as adjust the motion speed and sound volume. It also meets safety standards governing tipping over. The MamaRoo will also be available in February and will cost $199.95.
