Pregnant Woman Bludgeoned In Her Bed
A Welsh woman just two weeks away from giving birth was beaten in the head in a home invasion robbery. The burglars broke into the home of Nerys Price and her partner, Simon Morris and demanded the keys to the their two luxury cars, a Chevy Corvette and a BMW. They then hit her in the head twice with a heavy object. When Simon, who is 6ft 6in, tried to protect her, they started beating him. In the end the thieves took nothing.
Because of the severity of Miss Price's injuries doctors performed an emergency Cesarean section to deliver the baby. The baby, Freya, was healthy and weighed 6lbs 11oz.
The police are looking for the suspects. It is believed that the robbers were attracted to the home because of the luxury cars.
Simon's father,David, a former mayor of Prestatyn, North Wales where the robbery took place, said, 'It sickens us to think that evil thieves could have killed them all. It must have been so terrifying for Nerys waking up and being attacked like that.'
He went on to say, 'When we went to the hospital we feared the worst for Nerys but were surprised to see her sitting up and holding her baby with tears of joy in her eyes. Freya is a beautiful, bonny baby with a small shock of hair. Nerys thinks she looks like Simon. We are so happy they are both well and recovering.'
