A baby in Vermont was hospitalized and later died after allegedly being beaten by her father, Andrew Bedner. A little after midnight on July 29 the baby girl's mother, Kelly Hill call 911 to report that her daughter wasn't breathing. The father originally told police that he had dropped the baby while feeding her, but later confessed to striking the baby in the back of the head with his elbow after he completely lost control. But it seems that this was not the first time the little girl was abused in her short life. A doctor at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center told police the baby had suffered multiple skull fractures, intracranial hemorrhage, unexplained bruises, retinal hemorrhages, multiple rib fractures in different stages of healing and "devastating brain injuries," according to court records.
There are some questions about the girl being removed from life support over the weekend. It is not clear who gave the order to remove her from life support, because she is a ward of the court. Her father is being held on two counts of domestic violence with $100,000 bond. State's Attorney Robert Sand is waiting for the autopsy report to decide if murder charges will be filed.
