Kia Johnson baby boy is a ward of the court. His mother is dead and his father is in the county jail. He was able to see his son in family court for a dependency hearing, but the courts don't allow inmates to hold children. The family court does try to keep inmates involved in their children's lives. The court won't say if a ward of the court means that the child is being cared for by foster parents or members of the family. But Kia Johnson's aunt, Audie Banks, says that a family member is caring for Baby Terrell who is said to be doing well.
