I can't help but thinking that Casey Anthony wouldn't be facing a grand jury just yet it not for Jose Baez's grandstanding. The case was starting to fade away in the press, and the police were investigating. I think they were waiting for the press to fade away so that they could get an impartial jury. That way Casey wouldn't stand a chance on appeal.
But then Jose Baez started filing nonsense motions. Is stupid enough to think that they are going to allow Casey to travel. The police think that Caylee is dead and that Casey did it. Why would they let her go search? So that she could go hide and destroy evidence. He wants investigators to stop testing evidence. Why? So that it can degrade. So that he can control how and who tests it. Jose Baez is crazier than Casey if the courts are going to allow him dictate the course of the investigation.
Why is Jose Baez doing this? Casey Anthony is his ticket into the big leagues. You know that he isn't getting paid. If he can keep her name in the press and be seen to be doing something, he thinks clients will flock to him and he will recoup his loses. I bet he thinks he will be the next Johnnie Cochran. But Johnnie Cochran managed to win the OJ case and still be likable. I doubt that at the end of this case many people will be liking Baez. And his making all these silly motions is making him seem stupid.
Jose Baez needs to keep quiet. The rest of the Anthony family has gone quiet, I bet their lawyer advised them to be quiet and let things settle down a while. But Baez has put his client in a position where she now has to go before a grand jury, who more than likely will charge her for murder.
