Cole Puffinburger: Amber Alert Canceled

LAS VEGAS -- Metro police have called of an Amber Alert for a missing Las Vegas boy as they placed two people into custody after an armed kidnapping. (One of which is good ole Grandpa.)

During a Saturday news conference, Metro police said they've issued multiple search warrants for people and have two people in custody.

While they did not say why they called off the alert for Cole Puffinburger, 6, they did confirm that his grandfather, 51-year-old Clemons Tinnemeyer, is in custody in California. (It seems like most of the police effort has been in finding the grandfather, and not the boy. Maybe they are being blinded by the idea of cracking a multi-million dollar drug ring.)

Puffinburger was taken from his home on Wednesday, police said. Two Hispanic men disguised as police broke in, tied up his mother and stepfather and abducted him at gunpoint. He has not been seen since.

After Puffinburger's kidnapping, Metro police named Tinnemeyer as a person of interest in the investigation. He was last seen by his family in August after reportedly stealing $8 million from a Mexican drug cartel. Some of this money has been obtained since Tinnemeyer's arrest, Metro police said. (Now the drug cartel is going to be really angry, there is no chance that they will get their money back.

Once California police were able to apprehend Tinnemeyer in San Bernardino County, Metro police canceled the Amber Alert. They said that though they are still searching for the boy, they did not feel the continued alert would be necessary. (The boy is still missing. Even if they know who has the boy, they don't have Cole. Why cancel the Amber Alert? Did Grandpa kidnap Cole? Because if he didn't , and it looks like he didn't, they need all the help they can get. Cole's life is danger. Mexican drug cartels spend a great deal of their time kidnapping and murdering people. Anyone who lives along the Border can tell you that.)

Currently, Metro is looking for a second person of interest, Jesus Gasteleon. Gasteleon is in his 30s and may have ties to the cartel and family.

Puffinburger's mother is now also being investigated in connection with her involvement in the cartel, Metro police said. They did not say if she played a part in Puffinburger's kidnapping. (What, do think she handed her soon over as collateral. And by the time Cole comes home, there may be nobody there. It sounds like the police will be arresting everyone before this is all over. Hopefully the father isn't tied up in the drug ring.)

Currently, agents are searching the northwest side of the Valley, between Nellis Boulevard and Pecos Road and Craig Road and Cheyenne Avenue.

Puffinburger is 3 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 48 pounds. He has blond hair, blue eyes, distinctly stained front teeth, an overbite and wears prescription, silver-rimmed glasses. He was last seen wearing a black, zip-up, hooded sweatshirt with white, black and blue stars on it; a black John Cena WWE wrestling shirt; dark jeans; a belt; white socks; and black Vans sneakers. (Am I the only person who thinks that is a lot of clothes for a child to wearing so early in the morning. What time do they start dressing Cole for school? Or did the kidnappers make sure he was dressed before they took him. Because that time of morning most parents are still trying to get their children out of their pajamas and prepared for school.)

The men are described as having Hispanic accents. One man is described as in his early 30s, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has black, shoulder-length, slicked-back hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, Rivera said. (Maybe they should ask the Grandfather for a better description.)
