What Took Police So Long To Find Body Of Kia Johnson

Wilkinsburg police and city officials have gone into no comment mode about the murder of Kia Johnson. Wilkinsburg Police Chief Ophelia "Cookie" Coleman is even on vacation. I live in a city that has dealt with a very high profile murder of a pregnant woman. And I can tell you this the police chief would probably have postponed his vacation, especially when the Chief Coleman is just at home. (note to reporters:it is rude to just show up on her porch when she is on vacation) Of course people are going to have questions when police just take the word of a suspects relative, in this case Brooke Curry.
More is coming out about Kia Johnson. She worked at a local McDonald's, attended church, helped feed the homeless, and planned to join the Air Force. She was a young woman with plans and goals.
The victim's cousin, Tereka Nesbit, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Johnson told an aunt about two weeks before she disappeared that she had met a couple of women in the jail's visiting area and had gone to their homes after a jail visit.
"There's no question she's trusting," said Nesbit, 33, of McKeesport. "She was so kind and sweet." She said a grown man would not have been able to lure her cousin, "but a friendly woman would. She would have been thrilled to talk to anybody about (her) baby."
Her son remains hospitalized.
