I love this car seat, but it sadly will probably never see a production line. The Nestt by Think/Thing is one of the coolest car seats ever. It looks like a mid-century egg chair, offers extended side impact protection, can be used forward or backwards, swivels for ease of baby insertion, has only six moving parts, the cushions can be changed. Maybe by the time I finally manage to concieve it will be in production.

Sasawashi Paper Hat
I love baby hats with animal ears. This one is made of sasawashi paper and lined with fleece. Sasawashi paper feels just like fabric. The one downside is that it needs to be drycleaned. Oh, and it costs $85.

TATI Domino Crib & Toddler Bed
This crib is awesome. It is made of beech and melamine with floral end panels. And when you are done with the crib it converts to a twin bed. There is a drawer underneath the crib, and a drawer and open shelves under the bed. And the conversion kit is included. It is European sized, so that has to be taken into account when ordering bedding. $2235 from Nursery in Style.

Medela SoftFeeder
Need to supplement, but worried about nipple confusion. Medela has designed a bottle just for you. The SoftFeeder doesn't has a nipple, it has a spout that the baby laps at instead. So, no nipple confusion. $30.95
I Live In A Hick Town
I went into Target today to make a DwellBaby purchase or two. The shelves were bare. I asked if they had the line, and they asked how I knew about it. As if it hasn't all over the internet the last few weeks. You would have thought that we bloggers were waiting for Christ to come back instead of cribs and baby blankets.

DwellStudio at Target
The DwellBaby collection is online at Target. Everything looks great. I'm going to Target tomorrow to see if they have in store. I want to see the quality. The pieces range in price from under $10 - $299.99 for a crib.

Respisense Moniter
Are you completely paranoid about your baby forgetting to breathe. Then the Respisense may be the device for you. If your baby stops breathing it startles the baby to wake him up.
I Hate Computers
My computer is dying so posts will be light until my new one arrives.

Chrome Backpack
My son is a freshman in high school, and his backpack never seems to have enough storage space. The Chrome Bags Backbone looks like it would have more than enough space at 2400 cubic inches. It's designed for bicycle couriers, is weatherproof, has EVA foam straps, and a molded back panel. So carrying everything would be a little less back breaking. $160.
UPDATE: We ordered this backpack because my son's last backpack (which we had like three weeks was falling apart at the seams from all the weight). It is huge!!! He could use it as luggage. But is so well made that I don't expect to buy a new backpack the whole time he is in high school. Shipping took one day, of course we do only live about 90 minutes from San Francisco.

Combi Shuttle Car Seat
If the Combi Zeus car seat isn't for you because you want a car seat that you can use for a carrier, maybe the Combi Shuttle is. And it has a rebound bar to further protect your baby (all car seats are essentially the same, except for the little things). $139.99-$159.99. Available at Tiny Ride, Lullaby Lane, Bare Babies, and Chit Chat Baby.

Ralph Lauren Layette
Looks like Ralph Lauren has finally posted their new traditional layette online. This 19 piece layette is $300 and is available in white, blue, and pink. $300 may seem like a lot but averages out to just over $15 a piece. And there are less expensive sets available.

Cashmere Argyle Baby Blanket
How preppy can you get? This baby blanket is cashmere with an argyle pattern on one side, and a stripe on the reverse. Available in white, pink or blue. $244
Cool Stuff From Other Blogs
Ohdeedoh (or what used to be Apartment Therapy Nursery) has pictures of the Dwell Baby for Target Line. I especially love the Farm Girl pillow, but everything is lovely. The cribs are great looking too. I will checking the Target site everyday, and I go to Target at least once a week. I will post links and photos as soon as they are available.

Oh My God!!!
Today is my oldest son's birthday. I am finding to it rather hard to believe that I am the mother of a fifteen year old. Where did the time go?
Felt Baby Booties
Funkyshapes makes the cutest felt baby booties. This pair has a Japanese doll fabric on the soles. $26.

PBteen Sleep and Study Loft
I wish this could be the solution to the space problem in my bedroom. Why don't they make furniture like this for grown-ups? $1799+ ($200 shipping)

Knit Booties
These little crocheted booties from Pdxbeanies' Etsy shop look like something that Grandma would make. Except that Grandmas are so busy these days that they don't have time to crochet anything. $20
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has to be singing live, because she sure can't lip sync. Anybody who has ever watched her show can attest to that. Or, maybe they have given her lip syncing lessons. And has anybody warned Disney of over saturating the market. Because that is what they are doing with all of their stars. There are going to be a ton of teen stars with achy brakey hearts in a year or two.

Cool Animation
If you're looking for something short and cool to look at, check out the Busy Beaver Button Co. website. If you click on About Us, there are four short videos that will keep a kid distracted for a few minutes. WARNING!!! If you are a no gun parent, don't click on history. A button saves Lincoln from being assassinated. The videos are done in simple orange, black and white animation that is sure to amuse all.
Dreamer Design Park Avenue
There a lot of cool inexpensive strollers these. No longer is great style equated with spending huge amounts on a baby ride. And they usually have a lot of the same features that the more expensive strollers have, and usually they fold in one piece. This three wheeler is another of the "knock offs". Three position recline, reversible seat, and aluminum frame. There is an additional carrycot and footmuff that you can buy. And it weighs in at 24 pounds and $299.99. Which makes it really cool. Available from Isis Nursery, Bare Babies, and Health Check Systems.

Nintendo DS Xploder Cheat Device
I give enormous amounts of my money to Nintendo. So it came as no surprise that when I asked my oldest son what he wanted for his birthday it involved Nintendo. I was thinking the new Ipod Nano, but he asked for this. I think the Cheat Saves downloads cheat codes for the Nintendo DS. But I don't ask questions, I just open my wallet at the GameStop and they take what the like.
Pretzel Rolls
I tried to make these rolls yesterday. I have no idea where I went wrong, but they were never firm enough to shape like rolls. I put them into a big spoon like they were dumplings and boiled the dough anyway. I ended up with irregularly shaped buns. They tasted like pretzel, so I have no idea where I went wrong. I used the buns to make pastrami and swiss panini for dinner. The boys loved them.

Mid-Century Barbie Furniture
Here is more mid-century Mattel doll furniture, and it would even be great looking if it were real furniture. This one ends 10 January..
Tuesday, January 8, 2008
This is one of the coolest cribs ever. It converts from a crib to a toddler bed, and then to a child's bed. I am trying to get more information. Why don't they sell cribs like this in America?

Bad Mommy
As anyone who has read this blog knows, I hate the Disney Channel ( and my eight year old loves it). But at least they have love for the fat girl. Not every one is a size zero, and they seem to realize it. They show girls with a range of body types. And then ram them down the throats of our children until we actually believe that High School Musical is the Grease of our time.
Mattel Mid-Century Barbie Furniture
Barbie in all her mid-century modern glory is the only way to describe this table and chair set, and sideboard. Crafted by Mattel in the 1950s in Japan. Current bids $39.99 for each, the auctions end today

The Family Bible
I remember that as a child my grandmother had a big, leather Bible on a side table. All of a sudden all I want is a family Bible of my own. But what I don't understand is why nice family Bibles are so hard to find. This one is $150.

The $54 Armani Pacifier
Who would spend $50 plus for a binky? And it's not even that great of a pacifier. The only thing special about it is a little plastic case that says Armani. I wear designer clothes, so I am used to wasting money, but this just seems stupid.
Food Allergies
When did every kid on Earth develop food allergies? When I was kids weren't allergic to everything. There was always just the one sickly, strange kid who was allergic. Are we raising a nation of sickly strange kids?
