Tonight begins the official exploitation of little Jordyn-Grace Duggar. The baby girl is the daughter of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, and their 18th child. TLC will be debuting the latest addition to their quiverfull of children.
TLC is like a modern day freak show, exploiting the weird and unusual. If you have an unusual family or disability the channel wants to do a program on you.
Update:I got an email about this post. My problem is not with the Duggars, they are part of religious movement and work hard to support their kids (unlike another TLC family). Quiverfull gained my respect when I read and realized that they emphasize that God's plan is sometimes that you have no kids or that you adopt. It isn't about having 18 kids (most families don't), but taking what God gives to you.
My problem is with TLC that has changed its programming to exploit people. It's always about the morbidly obese, families with a ton of kids, little people, or the world's smallest mother. I can't be the only one who remembers when they used to show programs about science and history.
