Caylee Anthony Update 7 December

The Orange County State Attorney's Office announced in a news release Friday that "it is not in the best interest of the people of the State of Florida" to pursue the death penalty for Casey Anthony.

The 22-year-old mother pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to investigators about the disappearance of her daughter. She faces life in prison if convicted.

Caylee Anthony was last seen in June but her mother did not report her missing until July. She is presumed dead by authorities.

Police in Florida released new jailhouse video footage of Anthony laughing and crying on the telephone line during visits by friends and family.

Seven DVDs containing more than 300 minutes of sometimes emotional, sometimes mundane conversations between visitors and Anthony were released by the Orange County Sherrif's

Let her suffer in jail for the rest of her life. She will miss being free, and it is actually cheaper. It costs more to execute somebody (because of the appeals) than to keep them in prison for life.
