Lee Anthony, brother of Casey Anthony's will be the center of attention Friday morning.
Casey Anthony is accused of murdering her 2 year old daughter Caylee who was reported missing last June, nearly a month after she was last seen. Her remains were found in December.
Anthony’s brother is scheduled for depositions in a civil defamation lawsuit filed by Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez. Gonzalez has filed a civil defamation suit against Casey Anthony who named her as the babysitter she left her daughter with before she disappeared.
Lee Anthony’s questions will be asked under oath at the offices of Morgan and Morgan, the law firm representing Gonzalez.
Earlier this month Gonzalez's attorney said although the media would not be formally invited into the depositions, they would not force media out if they showed up.
But Lee Anthony's attorney, Thomas Luka said his client will not answer questions with the media present.
"My first step is to ask plaintiff council to ask the media to leave the deposition room,” Luka said. “If plaintiff council refuses to do so, I will immediately file with him a copy of a protective order then file that with the Clerk of Courts and Judge Rodriguez.”
According to Luka, civil law procedure states that ‘no deposition shall be taken before persons that are financially interested in the action’. Luka claims because video and sound would be used in a news program, with commercial breaks, that technically the media has financial interest in what Lee Anthony has to say.
The deposition is scheduled to start at 9:00 am.
