Saurette Available Online

New celebrity favorite, Saurette has opened an online boutique for those not living in Hollywood. The collection has a kind of delicate Mexican peasant vibe, and is a bit on the expensive side. But the pieces can be passed on to several little girls because of the quality.

Saurette

There will be another line of lovely girl's clothes hitting shelves in the spring. Saurette is designed by Lisa Kaunouse, who used to be a director of product development at Saks. Think classic pieces that won't look dated in photos five years on.

She says of her collection, "For Saurette, I took that inspiration and designed pieces with floral and tree embroideries and butterfly prints but added something different like metal beading or fabric piecing to make them unique."

Pears+Bears

I love little children in traditional clothes. Pears+Bears by Kayce Hughes will look good in photos twenty years from now. Which may not seem like a big deal, but will matter a lot to your kid when you're hauling out the photos when they are teenagers. There is nothing more embarrassing than dated photos. So don't buy a few of those High School Musical tees and buy something from this collection. Added bonus, she does adult clothes too. So you can do matching mother-daughter dresses.

Gothic Lolitas

The New York Times had an article about a new fashion trend among teenagers, the Gothic Lolita. Think a mix of goth, Japanese anime with more than a dash of Alice in Wonderland. Mainly girls dress up in petticoats, babydoll dresses, bloomers, mary janes, and ruffled shirts. The whole look is really modest. The Gothic Lolitas look like well dressed little girl. It's really a look that parents can get behind, a complete 180 from the booty shorts and belly baring tops that most high school girls wear.

Amber Rutland of Brooklyn said of the look, “Our Lolita is an elegant young girl inspired by Victorian or Rococo times. They aspire to create a sense of nobility.”

Where did the inspiration for the look come from? Why Japan of course. And where can the clothes be bought. Mary Magdalene out of Japan ships internationally. And then there is FanplusFriend which has a huge selection.
