From Growing Your Baby... the 40lb 8 month old. He can't sit up or crawl because he is so obese.The mother breastfeeds the baby about 20 times a day. Maybe she doesn't know better, or maybe it has something to do with China's one child policy. My eight year just reached the 40 pound mark, and that took cutting out most fruits and veggies (not enough calories). And when the high fat diet didn't work he was finally given Megace, a drug usually used for treating poor weight gain in the elderly. So I can't imagine a 8 month old that big. I also can't imagine breastfeeding an eight month old 20 times a day, when does she have time to do anything else.
