Sarah Palin Resigning

Sarah Palin is resigning as Governor of Alaska at the end of the month. And she didn't even give the people of the state an explanation. She did give the usual family time as an excuse of sorts though:

"This decision has been in the works for a while. This decision comes after much consideration, prayer and consideration," she said. "Finally, I polled the most important people in my life, my kids, where the count was unanimous. Well, in response to asking, 'Hey, you want me to make a positive difference and fight for all our children's future from outside the governor's office?' It was four yeses and one 'Hell, yeah!" And the hell, yeah sealed it."

But if she isn't holding some kind of office, what are her chances as a candidate in 2010?

"She's looking forward to serving the public outside the governor's chair," he said.

"It's absolutely bizarre, and I think it eliminates her from serious consideration for the presidency in 2012," political analyst Larry Sabato said. I would dare to say that she was never seriously in the running. There are just too many skeletons in that closet. Everyone would wonder how she could run the country when she couldn't even run her own family.

I bet you anything that she is just ditching the state because she has a better offer to do television. Expect Sarah Palin the talking head within the next few weeks. She will probably make the run, but the Republicans will choose somebody else in the end.

Bristol Palin Graduated

Bristol Palin managed to graduate from high school . It's a miracle that the teen mom managed it. I don't know how she earned the credits when she never seemed to be in school. First she had mono and was too sick to go to school (but not too sick to get pregnant). Then she was out on the campaign trail with her mom. And then she was busy raising her baby and fighting with Levi Johnson. But she managed to do it with a 3.497 G.P.A.

She plans on getting a two year degree and then getting a job in real estate. Don't most children of governors do a little better than an A.A.

Bristol Palin Trying To Convince Teens Abstinence Is The Answer

Despite saying earlier that abstinence was unrealistic, Bristol Palin is the new face of the abstinence movement. We all see how well that worked for her. She is now claiming that her earlier statement was taken out of context. Fox News (how conservative can you get) played everything leading up to her answer and what she said out after. How she can try and spin it as taken out of context is beyond me.

Levi Johnston Responds To Palin Camp

Just days after appearing on the Tyra Banks Show, Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin's former fiancé and father to her son Tripp, talked more on CBS' The Early Show about his difficulties with the family of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

One point of disagreement: Whether Johnston, 18, ever lived at the Palin's home. "They said I didn't live there," he said. "[They say] I 'stayed' there. I was like, 'Okay, whatever you want to call it' – I had all my stuff there. So, if you wanna call it staying there, that's fine." (That sounds a lot like living there to me. But I don't pretend to be holier than thou.)

"So, they're lying," said anchor Maggie Rodriguez. "Yeah," Johnston replied.

After Palin lost the election and Johnston and Bristol broke up, Johnston says there has been tension during his visits to see 3-month-old Tripp. "I can go over there whenever I want and see my baby," says Johnston. "But I'm not allowed to take him, and it's not as comfortable going over there anymore with that family sitting down on the couch. It's awkward. I don't know. They just, like, they don't think of me the same way anymore."

He adds, "I don't wanna go over there every day and sit there when her family's there and try and play with my baby. I want to be able to take him and do what – our own thing with my family." (That is what family court is for. Unless, the Palin family can show that he is an unfit parent he will get visitation. His mother's drug arrest probably won't help, but Palin's family isn't perfect in that respect either.)

Levi wasn't the only Johnston to defend his story. His mother, Sherry, and sister Mercede also weighed in.

"I mean, look what they're doing," said Mercede. "They're lying, trying to save themselves when they're the ones that asked for it. They brought him to the campaign. They should have known what was coming. They can't turn around and try and take it back now."

As for why Levi is speaking out now, he explained, "We're not trying to cash in on their name, you know. I'm just trying to get my side of the story out there. Letting people know who I am. Not what the magazines say I am."

The biggest misconception? "Umm, probably that my family's white trash," he said. (If it helps, everyone think that Bristol's family is white trash too.)

Levi Johnson Talks Sex On Tyra Show

Now that he has split from Bristol Palin, Levi Johnson is trying to milk his 15 minutes of fame, for all it's worth. I wouldn't doubt if it he ended up on a reality show or writing a book.

Bristol Palin's former fiancé and father to her child Tripp is talking about their sex life on national television.

Levi Johnston not only says he practiced safe sex "most of the time" when they were together, he also reveals to Tyra Banks that he believes Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin knew he and Bristol were having sex when they lived under her roof. (He was living at her house. You don't let your teenage daughter's boyfriend live with you unless he's homeless. And then you make him sleep on your bedroom floor with a bell around his neck.) "I'm pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart," Johnston, 18, says in an interview set to air April 6.

The couple, who were high school sweethearts, planned to wed after graduating – but ended up splitting earlier this year. (Palin never intended on the pair marrying. It was just a ploy to make the situation look good during the election. Once the election was lost the engagement was over.) At the time, Johnston told Good Morning America that he needed to mature before getting married.

Meanwhile, now that they are just friends and not romantically involved, PEOPLE has confirmed with a source that Bristol is not dating but has been "texting and chatting" with a high school boyfriend she had before Johnston.

Johnston's mom, Sherry, and sister Mercede, join him on The Tyra Banks Show, talking about the gag order imposed on them during Palin's vice presidential campaign. "We were supposed to say that all questions need be brought up to the McCain campaign. Other than that we had to say 'no comment,' " explains Mercede.

After talking about sex on The Tyra Banks Show, Johnston – the 18-year-old father of Bristol Palin's baby – was hit with a blistering response from Bristol's family.

"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship," says the statement from the Palin family rep, Meghan Stapleton.

"Bristol's focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence," the statement continues.(Is this the same Bristol who just weeks ago said abstinence is unrealistic.) "It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child."

The statement ends, saying, "Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

In other Palin family troubles, the half sister of Palin's husband Todd was accused of breaking into the same Wasilla, Alaska, house twice to steal money, the Associated Press reports. Diana Palin, 35, was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespass and theft stemming from two break-ins this week.

It's all very trailer park.

Bristol Palin Dumps Levi

Like I predicted during the election, Bristol Palin has split from Levi Johnson now that her mother has lost. I am kind of surprised it took so long, Levi kind of flaked on everything. He couldn't even keep jobs he was handed on silver platter. And if Bristol's mother, Sarah is planning to run for President in 2012 druggie in-laws are a liability.

Bristol Palin and her fiancé Levi Johnston have broken up, two sources tell PEOPLE.

The split happened "a few weeks ago," according to a source close to the couple, but it's unclear what precipitated it. "It was a mutual thing," adds the source.

Bristol, the 18-year-old daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, spoke with FOX News in February and told Greta Van Susteren that she and Levi – who are parents to 2-month-old son, Tripp – expected to get married after they completed high school.

"It kind of just happened," says the source, referring to the split. "I thought they would stick it out. But I think they can work together to raise Tripp."

"I'm not sure what caused [them to break up] – it's common knowledge," says another source who knows the family.

Despite the breakup, Levi still sees the couple's son. Levi's dad, Keith Johnston, told PEOPLE recently that his son is a devoted and "proud father."

Bristol, meanwhile, is attending Wasilla High, taking a class to supplement course work she is completing at home. She also is considering enrolling in college next fall and studying nursing.

Bristol has been spotted around Wasilla shopping and exercising. She recently returned from Juneau where she was visiting her mother, who is spending the winter in the state's capital with daughter Piper and son Trig during the legislative session.

As for how she is holding up after the split, the source tells PEOPLE: "Bristol's doing okay. Tripp is fine."

Representatives for Gov. Palin have not returned calls for comment.

Bristol Palin Says Abstinence Unrealistic

Bristol Palin has confirmed what most of America already knew. Mom, Sarah Palin's views on sex are unrealistic. "Not realistic at all" is how she described her mother's views on abstinence to Greta Van Susteren.

But it sounds like Bristol is discovering that being a teen mom isn't easy at all, and she wishes she had waited.

"Everyone should wait 10 years," Palin said. "I hope people learn from my story.

"It's so much easier if you're married, have a house and career. It's not a situation you want to strive for."

She also denied that her mother bullied her into keeping the baby with her anti-abortion position.

"It was my choice to have the baby," she said. "It doesn't matter what my mom's views are on it. It was my decision."

Levi Johnson Quits Job

Bristol Palin's baby daddy, Levi Johnson, has quit his job in the Alaska oil fields, has dropped out of high school and his electrician apprentice job (Which he got despite the fact that he needed a diploma.) This boy is being handed chance after chance through his connection to Bristol's mother, Sarah Palin and letting them go. He is behaving like someone off of the Maury show. If Bristol's mommy wasn't governor they would probably be on welfare. I would worry if I were in Bristol's shoes.

And a trooper is alleging that the election stood in the way of the arrest of Levi's mother on drug charges.

"[A]s soon as investigators realized who the target was...this case became anything but normal," Kyle Young wrote in an email to the union that represents troopers and other Alaska law enforcement officials.

"It was not allowed to progress in a normal fashion, the search warrant service WAS delayed because of the pending election and the [regional] Drug Unit and the case officer were not the ones calling the shots," he continued.

As the Anchorage Daily News reports, Alaska Public Safety Commissioner Joe Masters and troopers director Col. Audie Holloway dispute the claim.

"We worked very hard to make sure we conducted it just as fairly and as normally as any other investigation," Holloway said.

The union's executive director, John Cyr, told the Daily News that the handling of the case "really does smack of political favoritism."

"And if that be the case, it's another example of the Palin administration's direct influence on the public safety unit," he added – an apparent reference to the so called "Troopergate" case involving charges that Palin and her family applied pressure to get a state trooper fired for personal reasons.

If Sarah Palin wants to be the Republican candidate for President in 2012 she better cut this family loose, and enroll her daughter in high school.

Bristol Palin Has Given Birth

Bristol Palin, future daughter in law of a drug criminal, has given birth to her baby. And she continued her family's tradition of giving the little boy a name suitable for a future race car driver.

Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth on Saturday to a healthy 7 lb., 7 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.

"We think it's wonderful," said Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath, who confirmed the news. "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."

The baby's name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston and he was born at 5:30 a.m., according to Jones.

Baby Tripp takes his surname from his dad, Levi Johnston, an apprentice electrician and former Wasilla High School hockey player who has been dating Bristol for three years.

Bristol Palin is currently residing in Wasilla and completing her high-school diploma through correspondence courses.

Johnston is studying to become an electrician. He told the Associated Press in October that he and fiancée Bristol plan to wed in 2009 and raise the child together.

I still say that the marriage won't take place. Sarah Palin intends on running for President in 2012, and being linked to someone with a drug arrest just won't do.

Sarah Palin In 2012?

If Sarah Palin wants to run for president in 2012 this is not the way to do it. Backhanded jabs at the Republican Party is just going to anger the people who are in charge. She is going to need their support in two years when the campaigning begins again.

Republican Party Has Spent $150,000 To Makeover Palin Family

The Republican Party has spent over $150,000 to clothe Sarah Palin and her family since her September vice-presidental nomination. What hockey mom spends that much on clothes? You know they wouldn't be spending like that if it was their own money. Of course this is the woman was reimbursed by the Alaska for $21,000 in hotel rooms and airfare because her children were conducting official state business. What state business can kids who can't even finish high school be conducting?
The Republican National Committee appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.

According to financial disclosure records, the accessorizing began in early September and included bills from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York for a combined $49,425.74.

The records also document a couple of big-time shopping trips to Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, including one $75,062.63 spree in early September.

The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup through September after reporting no such costs in August.

Politico asked the McCain campaign for comment, explicitly noting the $150,000 in expenses for department store shopping and makeup consultation that were incurred immediately after Palin’s announcement. Pre-September reports do not include similar costs. (Haven't they heard that the economy is in the stinker. Voters are going to be angry. )

That's what the Palin family used to dress like, like many other middle class families across America.

Spokeswoman Maria Comella declined to answer specific questions about the expenditures, including whether it was necessary to spend that much and whether it amounted to one early investment in Palin or if shopping for the vice presidential nominee was ongoing. (Probably because Republican donors would be pissed at the amount. They think their hard earned money is going toward ads and staff, and it's going to clothe the Palins in expensive clothing.)

“The campaign does not comment on strategic decisions regarding how financial resources available to the campaign are spent," she said.

The business of primping and dressing on the campaign trail has become fraught with political risk in recent years as voters increasingly see an elite Washington out of touch with their values and lifestyles.

In 2000, Democrat Al Gore took heat for changing his clothing hues. And in 2006, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) was ribbed for two hair styling sessions that cost about $3,000.

Then, there was Democrat John Edwards’ $400 hair cuts in 2007 and Republican McCain’s $520 black leather Ferragamo shoes this year.

A review of similar records for the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee turned up no similar spending.

But all the spending by other candidates pales in comparison to the GOP outlay for the Alaska governor whose expensive, designer outfits have been the topic of fashion pages and magazines.

What hasn’t been apparent is where the clothes came from – her closet back in Wasilla or from the campaign coffers in Washington. (Maybe she should ask to borrow clothes from Mrs.McCain. At least Cindy paid for her own $300K convention outfit.)

The answer can be found inside the RNC’s September monthly financial disclosure report under “itemized coordinated expenditures.”

It’s a report that typically records expenses for direct mail, telephone calls and advertising. Those expenses do show up, but the report also has a new category of spending: “campaign accessories.”

September payments were also made to Barney’s New York ($789.72) and Bloomingdale’s New York ($5,102.71).

Macy’s in Minneapolis, another store fortunate enough to be situated in the Twin Cities that hosted last summer’s Republican National Convention, received three separate payments totaling $9,447.71.

The entries also show a few purchases at Pacifier, a top notch baby store, and Steiniauf & Stroller Inc., suggesting $295 was spent to accommodate the littlest Palin to join the campaign trail. (There is no reasons for baby items to appear on a financial disclosure statement. I take that back, maybe an assistant has to run out and buy a bag of diapers or formula occassionally, but there is no reason for purchases from Pacifier.)

An additional $4,902.45 was spent at Atelier, a high-class shopping destination for men. (I bet that suit that Bristol's baby daddy wore at the convention was paid for by the McCain campaign too. And Republican voters, if your nominee loses the Palins will probably get to keep all those lovely luxury items.)

Levi Johnson Speaks

Bristol Palin's baby daddy, Levi Johnson speaks. And it looks like the baby will be illegitimate, the couple isn't planning on marrying until next year. That way if Sarah Palin loses they can quietly back out of the wedding.

"We both love each other. We both want to marry each other. And that's what we are going to do."

Furthermore, "We were planning on getting married a long time ago with or without the kid." Johnson told the Associated Press.

He's blaming the MySpace redneck and I don't want kids now comments on his friends.

As for the baby, which Johnston suggested would be a boy, he said, "I'm looking forward to having him. I'm going to take him hunting and fishing. He'll be everywhere with me."

Dude, babies aren't into hunting and fishing. They are more pooping and crying type of people.

Johnson, not the brightest bulb in the lamp, said of Barack Obama,"I don't know anything about him. He seems like a good guy. I like him."

Looks like the Republican Party will be telling him to shut back up.

What I don't understand is why their families let these kids drop out of high school. I understand they are about to have a baby to support, but Palin can afford to help out until they graduate in June. I think this is the campaigns way of hiding the fact that pair probably don't have enough credits to graduate. Levi has gone to work in the oil fields as an apprentice electrician.

Bizarre Crimes I Came Across This Week 18 September

Mom Allegedly Uses Daughter's ID To Be Cheerleader
Wendy Brown enrolled in a high school as her daughter (who was in Nevada with her grandparents) so that she could become cheerleader. It seems that Ms.Brown didn't get to fully experience her teen years. She got caught by truancy police when she failed to turn up to class on a regular basis.

Grandma Too Young For ToysRUs Discount
OK, it's not a crime, but they should be ashamed. They actually have an age restriction on their grandparent's discount. Haven't they ever heard of teen pregnancy. It's all the rage these days, just ask Sarah Palin (who would not qualify for the discount).

Bristol Palin- Alls Fair In Love And War

Did Bristol Palin steal Levi Johnson from her best friend? Well, that is what the girl in question, Lanesia Garcia is claiming. Lanesia had been dating Levi for three years when Bristol started pressuring her to break up with him because he was a cheating redneck. Lanesia found out that one of the girls that Levi was cheating with was Bristol. Lenesia was really hurt since she and Bristol had been friends since they were six.
"I didn't believe it, I never dreamt she was capable of doing that to me. But when I called her she just said, 'I'm so sorry, I couldn't help it. Levi and I are together now and I think he's the man for me.' I put the phone down and have not talked to her since. I was distraught for a year - I missed Bristol desperately but also Sarah, who was like a second mom to me. Neither of them have tried to contact me, though-which says something about how ruthless they can be. The phrase Sarah used comparing herself to a lipstick-wearing pitbull is spot on."
Lanesia should consider herself lucky. She could be the knocked up one on her way to a shotgun wedding. And Bristol will probably come running back after she divorces Levi. I don't think this marriage will be happening if Sarah Palin and John McCain don't win the election. They don't seem to be rushing to marry the pair off.

The Spears Deny Sending Gift To Bristol Palin

Petit Tresor has been caught lying again.
"I just got off the phone with Lynne. I can tell you that she hasn't sent her any gifts, but that she does support Sarah and, of cousre, can empathize with their situation," Curt Handling, Spears' publicist at the Tomas Nelson publishing company, tells E! News.
And I doubt that the Palins would have accepted such a gift, because the McCain campaign is trying to paint Senator Obama as being to close too Hollywood. So what would they look like accepting a gift from Hollywood's most famous teen-age mother. Especially one who may be calling off her engagement and preparing for a custody fight. Luckily for Jamie Lynn, primary caregivers almost always get custody, and has anyone actually seen Casey with that baby since the million dollar magazine spread.

Sarah Palin's Pregnancy Decision Map

I found this online and thought that it was hilarious. I said from the beginning that Trig was her son, but she had poor decision making skills. Pray that John McCain lives to be a hundred if he is elected.
And I'm sick of the phrase, "Hockey Mom."

Cindy McCain's $300,000 Convention Outfit

I don't really have a problem with her spending so much on clothes, it's her daddy's money. And I'm assuming that Vanity Fair over estimated the cost of her jewelry. But you don't wear a $300,000 outfit and expect it not to come out. Her handlers should have done a better job explaining this to her. It just looks bad when the economy is in the toilet. And the Oscar de la Renta dress was ugly to boot, what is she dressing for a cocktail party.

Laura Bush
Oscar de la Renta suit: $2,500
Stuart Weitzman heels: $325
Pearl stud earrings: $600–$1,500
Total: Between $3,425 and $4,325

Cindy McCain
Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000
Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500
Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000
Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000–$25,000
Shoes, designer unknown: $600
Total: Between $299,100 and $313,100

PS: Then the Republican Party has the son of a billionaire nominate Sarah Palin for VP. They don't really care if they seem out of touch.
