Halloween

What happened to all of the trick or treaters? My doorbell hasn't rang in over half an hour. And I still have about eight pounds of candy to give out. Everyone around here takes their kids to the "rich" neighborhoods. I took my son to about ten of the houses on just my street, and he has a whole pumpkin bucket of candy. Where are all the wee ones? My feelings are hurt, and I may actually cry.

Habitrail OVO

My youngest son wants a hamster. I keep refusing on the grounds that a hamster is just a fancy rat. My grandmother tells the tale of my older sister's getting out and eating a hole in the back of her couch. But the Habitrail OVO Pad makes me reconsider, it is adorable, and has two attachments. The pieces are priced well too, just $6.99 - $24.99. Fancy rat sold separately.

More Mini Chairs

Here is another version of the mini chairs, and this time they are the modern classics. And the great thing about this set is that they are only $13 apiece. So if they get played with you don't have to worry so much about them being broken. But you don't get to choose. These are available at ModernTots.

Why?

Why would a kid steal a lunch box that they can't take back to school. Yesterday someone stole my youngest son's lunch box,a 1998 metal Godzilla lunch box. There is no way they could get away with carrying it. The school is looking for it like it was a flawless 10 carat diamond. I am posting reward posters because there isn't another one on eBay. So it must not exist.

Bodo Sperlein for Lladro Fairy Lights

I know that these lights are completely over the top. But I saw the $45,000 chandelier posted over at Black*Eiffel, and now they don't seem like they cost so much. If my next child is a girl I plan on hanging a few of these over her crib. Yes, they cost $495 each. But it's probably my last baby and it will be in the corner of my room. So the cost is justifiable.

Caleb Rain Boots

I refuse to drive my son around the corner to school, even on rainy days. These Morgan&Milo boots are perfect those days. They only cost $29.

Why?

Why do celebrities shop at stores that they know are going to put all their business out in the streets?

Why?

Why don't baby bedding companies sell their bedding in individual pieces? I see bedding that I like, but I don't need a bumper or bed skirt. Isn't crib bumper just a fancy way to say suffocation hazard?

Laptop Bag

Laptop bags make better diaper bags than do actual diaper bags. This leather and beaded stingray bag can do both jobs quite well. It is designed by J'tote Bags and costs $260. That's around the cost of a designer diaper bag. And the first 500 buyers get a free matching wallet. All you need to do to convert any bag to a diaper bag, is take the changing pad from the ugly diaper bag they give you at hospital and stick it in your bag. Don't want pee or poop leaking into the lining of your designer bag... take along a few Ziploc baggies.

High School Musical

Am I the only person tired of Disney's High School Musical? Haven't they ever heard of overexposure? Of course Disney works all of it's stars like it was MGM in the 30s.

How Much Is Too Much For A Diaper Bag?

How much is too much? $340. This diaper bag is very nice but $340 is a bit too much. They always say you can reuse them, but what if they are like bridesmaids' dresses. You never wear a bridesmaid's dress again no matter how nice it is. Maybe I'm not a diaper bag person.

PTA Free Zone

Is it wrong to think of Booster Club as a cult from which you have escaped?

More Little Chairs

Here is a less expensive of the little chairs that I posted earlier. They are also more traditional, but of a similar size. These chairs come in a set of three and only cost $49. They are available from Brocade Home.

Wall Art

For something different hang this skate board deck on your little girl's wall. She can even ride it when she is a teenager. Talk about growing with your child. It costs just $47.95.

Rooster and Cat Print

I am thinking of buying this print for my youngest son. We have a blue eyed cat and chickens. And the print reminds me of the way our cat looks out the window at them. The print measures 12 by 19 inches and costs $30. Pushmepullyou has other screenprinted animals available too. And they also have three children's dinner sets available at Skip Hop.

Lapis Crib Set

I'm not a fan of the full on crib set. What is a crib bumper but a suffocation risk. I'm really not a fan of the whole John Robshaw crib set (it costs $425). But I love the quilt ($125). It is sophisticated and future heirloom quality. I would buy it and use it with a plain cotton sheet.

UFO Lamp

The light of this UFO lamp can be adjusted just by moving the lamp higher and lower. Move the light down for a soft light, move it up for a brighter light. It would be a cool night light. It costs $99.
